Art Night Dundee
Curatorial/organisational project, ongoing.
~
Art Night Dundee is a legacy project to Art Night UK, being led and developed by the team who delivered the festival's 2023 iteration in Dundee. We are currently embracing being in a transitional state—undertaking research around alternate modes of organising while working closely with artists to develop public projects, moving organically towards our organisation's future form.
Since Art Night Dundee's founding in March 2024, projects have included The North Carry On Up—a public participatory work by Dundonian artist Inefficient Solutions that employed over 50 local arts workers to carry a large scale reproduction of the historic (and soon-to-be scrapped) North Carr Lightship to the highest point in Dundee, as a proposal to the city to salvage the vessel—and an ongoing travel and research project around collaboration and partnerships in regional contemporary art festivals, supported by Creative Scotland's Go See Share fund.
